What to expect

During your first consultation we will ask about your symptoms and medical history. We’ll then conduct a full osteopathic examination, which may involve diagnostic, orthopaedic or neurological tests – as well as postural assessments. As part of the examination we might ask you to do some movements – like lifting an arm or bending over.

It’s important that you feel comfortable, so you might want to wear loose pants or bring a pair of shorts to change into. Depending on the ailment, you may need to strip down to your underwear.

During the consultation we will provide education and advice to help you manage your condition – including exercises for you to do at home.

Some people experience slight tenderness after a treatment, similar to that felt after mild exercise. If this soreness persists or increases significantly, please call us to discuss any concerns or issues you may be experiencing.
